Oholibah put some of her friends and lovers before God. So then God made her friends and lovers hate and dispise Oholibah.  He let her feel how it was like to be betrayed since she had betrayed him. God put her in the hands of the people who hate her and let her suffer the consequences of abandoning God.

Analysis

This story tells us that "God is our only foundation". We can trust and lean only on him because he will never abandon us and is always faithfull. The story also tells us that even though Christ has washed away our sins we still have consequences for our sin. For example putting someone before God is a sin and when we do that we are getting farther from God and weakening the relationship even though Christ has died for us. So we should always put God before anyone else and love him since he will always love us and never abandon us
